Ticket Services Staff

General description

The Ticket Services Department has seasonal positions available for event night box office staff as well as daytime phone operators.

Essential Functions

The primary role of this position is to perform ticket transactions while providing exceptional customer service and representing Starlight Theatre in the best possible light.  Additional focus is given to data management and the importance of accurate record-keeping.

Starlight Theatre takes pride in surpassing expectations for customer service.  Consequently, the foremost responsibility for all Ticket Services staff is to make our guests feel welcome and appreciated.  This position offers frequent opportunities to interact with guests in person, on the phone or by email.  Applicants should possess skills in communicating through all of these mediums.

Hours for event night staff vary based on performance schedule.  Most shifts occur between 5:00 and 9:00 pm with occasional earlier and later start and end times.  These positions are available from May through September.  Concert and Broadway Series’ will combine for approximately 65 performance dates this summer, with the average staff member working 3 or 4 shifts per week.  For daytime phone operators, we typically schedule 2 to 3 eight hour shifts per week, between 9 am and 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. Employees may receive complimentary tickets to events which they are not scheduled to work.


  • Applicants should have a love for the performing arts and the events we are promoting

  • Prior customer service background is a plus

  • Prior ticketing experience is helpful, especially knowledge of the Tessitura database

  • Must be able to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Should enjoy problem solving and interacting with the public

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
