As summer draws to a close, we say goodbye to the college students from the 2018 Bob Rohlf Internship Program, who joined our team to experience and assist with many aspects of Starlight Theatre’s busy summer season. A total of 15 interns worked closely with Starlight leadership and staff in accounting, development/fundraising, education, group sales, horticulture, information systems, marketing, operations and production, and were integral to the success of our live theatre, concerts, education programs and other events this summer.

Since 1984, Starlight has offered college students the opportunity to gain hands-on, real world experience in a professional theatre and nonprofit setting. In 2008, thanks to longtime Starlight benefactors Don and Adele Hall, the internship program was named in honor of former Starlight president and executive producer Bob Rohlf.

In addition to their daily duties and event assignments, Starlight interns have the opportunity to connect with leaders at our theatre and throughout the metro. In the final weeks of the internship program, they attend a luncheon with Bob Rohlf and Starlight’s president & CEO Rich Baker and are invited to a board meeting to mingle with top leaders from respected organizations in Kansas City.

We wish all of our interns the best of luck in their future endeavors, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish!

Internship applications for the 2019 summer season will be available this winter. Check kcstarlight.com/education/bob-rohlf-internship-program for application instructions.
