Young Friends of Starlight celebrated its most successful year yet of After Hours at the Towers on Friday, April 27 under the stars. With a 1907 Coney Island theme based off of Love Never Dies, the spellbinding sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, patrons donned their period attire and entered through the big top for the evening.

In true theatre form, the event was two acts--Act 1 included a fortune teller, stilt walker, lion cage photo booth, a juggler and a fire-breather, in addition to many local food vendors under the North Pavilion. For Act II, patrons moved through Starlight to the Cohen Community Stage, where popular local band Lost-Wax kept the dance floor moving all night long.

With 300 attendees, the 2018 event was a hit. Funds raised from the event sponsorships benefit Starlight's Bob Rohlf Internship program, which provides paid summer internships to college students across multiple departments. Young Friends of Starlight raised money for the event with a raffle, balloon pop, silent auction, wine toss and generous donations from sponsors.

Young Friends of Starlight is also pleased to welcome 13 new members from the event and looks forward to working with them on future initiatives. For more information on how to join Young Friends of Starlight, visit their page.
