Blue Star Awards Workshops Prepare Students for College

The 18th year of Starlight Theatre’s Blue Star Awards is officially under way! Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards, this program recognizes the accomplishments of high school musical theatre students across Kansas City. Knowing that many of these students plan to pursue careers in the performing arts after high school, Starlight now offers a variety of college preparatory workshops for students from participating Blue Star Awards high schools.

Upcoming workshops include:

How to Prepare for College Auditions
Saturday, October 5, 2019, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This workshop is ideal for sophomores and juniors. It will provide information on what to expect from college auditions, materials to prepare and how to set yourself up for success. The class is $40 for students and $20 for parents/guardians.

College Prep 101 – Musical Theatre
Saturday, February 22, 2020, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This workshop is ideal for freshman, sophomores and juniors. It will allow students and parents to learn about college selection, the audition process and admissions. The class is $25 per person.
