Rocket Pictures plans to adapt the musical into an animated movie. Elton John will executive produce the film with Lloyd Webber and Rice, while Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish will produce.

“Joseph is one of the most popular musical experiences ever conceived,” Shaw said in a release. “We are excited about the huge potential of a contemporary animated version, and we’re thrilled to bring this to the big screen in partnership with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.”

Joseph, the first hit collaboration of Lloyd Webber and Rice, tells the story of the trials and triumphs of Joseph. The musical blends pop, country and rock into an uplifting tale containing much-loved numbers including “Any Dream Will Do,” “One More Angel in Heaven,” “Close Every Door” and “Go, Go, Go Joseph!”
