The Comedy Get Down

Four members of comedy royalty will bring the laughs to Starlight Theatre on Friday, July 13. The Comedy Get Down national tour features Cedric “The Entertainer,” Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley and George Lopez.

Cedric “The Entertainer” is best known for crowd-pleasing performances in hit films and TV shows such as Barbershop, Be Cool, The Original Kinds of Comedy, and the top-ranking Madagascar animated franchise, as well as serving as executive producer and star for five seasons of his own hit comedy series, “The Soul Man” on TV Land.

Eddie Griffin has received worldwide recognition for acting, writing and producing stand-up comedy specials, movies, TV appearances, and music and comedy albums. Among his notable projects are “Def Comedy Jam,” “HBO One Night Stand” and “Malcolm & Eddie,” for which he won the NAACP Image Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Comedy Central honored Griffin as one of the Top 100 Stand-Up Comedians of All Time.

D.L. Hughley has created a name for himself as an accomplished stand-up comedian, actor, talk show host and author. He starred in his namesake TV show on ABC, “The Hughley’s,” and also is one of the standout stars of the hit comedy tour and docu-film, The Original Kings of Comedy. His third book, “How Not to Get Shot,” is scheduled for release in June 2018.

George Lopez is a multi-talented entertainer whose career encompasses film, stand-up comedy and late-night TV. For two seasons, he hosted “Lopez Tonight” on TBS, and his groundbreaking TV sitcom “George Lopez” ran for six seasons on ABC. Currently he stars in the hit TV Land comedy “Lopez.”
