Show Time: 7 p.m.
Gates Time: 6 p.m.
American rock bands Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World will join forces and hit the road this summer for their Summer Gods Tour 2019. Presented by 96.5 The Buzz, these two certified-platinum groups will be joined by special guest Ra Ra Riot to play under the stars Sunday, June 23 at Starlight.
Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Third Eye Blind scored its first major hit in 1997 with the song “Semi-Charmed Life,” and the band has continued to see success ever since. Third Eye Blind has a sound unique from their ‘90s peers, with music influenced by classic pop/rock traditions rather than the grunge sound of the decade. By 1999, the band had released two studio albums with numerous chart-topping hits and, after a short hiatus, released their third studio album in 2003. Their most recent studio album, Dopamine, was released in 2015 and debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
With nine studio albums since the band’s inception in 1993, Jimmy Eat World was originally a big name in the emo genre, but soon strayed and found a larger audience with a sound of alternative rock and pop. Their biggest single to date, “The Middle,” reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and secured the album Bleed American as platinum-selling. Jimmy Eat World’s most recent album, Integrity Blues, featured singles “Get Right” and “Sure and Certain,” and was released in 2016. In 2018, amidst their Integrity Blues Tour, the band celebrated 25 years with two new song releases, “Love Never” and “half heart.”
