The annual Blue Star Program is designed to recognize outstanding achievement in musical theatre among high school students. The program's goal is to bring together high school theatrical programs in metropolitan Kansas City and outlying areas to recognize outstanding talent among our youth.

During the 2007-08 school, 44 high schools producing 49 musicals participated – all doing outstanding work in musical theatre. Starlight Theatre invites all high schools to participate in this exciting program that acknowledges excellence in production and performance efforts in high school musical theatre.
