Vincent Legacy Scholarship
Check back in August for 2009 scholarship materials!
Starlight Theatre is proud to announce that local community leaders Greg and Rebecca Reid have established the Vincent Legacy Scholarship and organized a $50,000 endowment fund “to provide youth who show performing arts promise the opportunity to further refine and improve their skills through professional instruction, but who otherwise might not be able to secure additional training.”
This new scholarship opportunity is for minority youth in sixth, seventh or eighth grade. The scholarship will pay for up to $2,500 of performing arts instruction for the selected recipient.
To be eligible to apply, students:
- must maintain a minimum “B” (3.0) grade level
- be free of unexcused school absences
- show evidence of a demonstrated interest in community service
Upon review of all applications, Starlight will host auditions for up to 12 selected finalists. Each finalist will audition in the area of performance that best expresses his or her area of expertise.
Starlight Theatre staff will meet with the annual scholarship recipient to create an individualized plan of performance art instruction that best suits the student and his or her needs. The scholarship will be paid directly from Starlight to the professional individual, association or agency providing performing arts instruction.
