Accounting Manager

General Description

Starlight is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and motivated Accounting Manager to assist with the general ledger and actively manage all revenue related tasks within our Accounting department. This position focuses primarily on ensuring accurate and timely processing of revenue, reconciliations and a variety of other regular tasks related to general ledger. Other duties include bank reconciliations, period end closing and assisting the Director of Finance in special projects.

Essential Functions

  • All activities necessary to accumulate and process revenue related activities, such as invoicing, account statements, deposits, reconciliation of daily sales reports to various sub ledgers and reviewing for accuracy.

  • Preparing accounting transactions and documents relating to revenue and general ledger.

  • Maintaining accounting functions within ticketing and point of sale systems.

  • Completing bank reconciliations.

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing by preparing schedules and reconciliations to the GL in addition to financial statement preparation.

  • Documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management.

  • Assisting Director of Finance with training, directing work and resolving issues.

  • Backup for Accounts Payable and Payroll Accountants.

  • Complete other projects as assigned by Director of Finance.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, time management, communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fluid environment. Project management, analytical thinking, problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively are also important.


  • 4 year accounting degree

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in accounting

  • Revenue and general ledger experience

  • Knowledge of accounts payable, payroll and fixed assets preferred

  • Strong proficiency in reconciliations and schedule preparation

  • Proficiency in Acumatica software preferred

  • Familiarity with Tessitura software a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as neede
