Starlight is searching for the newest class of Vincent Legacy Scholars! Established in 2006, the Vincent Legacy Scholarship program provides $2,500 for performing arts training to BIPOC youth in the Kansas City community. More than $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded since the program’s inception.

To qualify for application, students in grades 6, 7 or 8 should have a strong desire and motivation to obtain, improve, or refine their skills through professional training in acting, singing, and/or dance, demonstrate an interest in helping their community, and demonstrate financial need. Qualified applicants will be invited to audition after the application deadline ends.

Scholars become a part of the Starlight family and are recognized on stage prior to a summer Broadway show. Each winter, scholars, alumni and their families gather at Starlight for a holiday dinner to share stories and connect. Alumni of the program have pursued careers in the arts, as well as nursing, public service, law and more.

The application is now open and available here. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 28. For more information, email education@kcstarlight.com.

The Vincent Legacy Scholarship program was established thanks to the generosity of longtime Starlight supporters Greg and Rebecca Reid.
