Boy bands never go out of style! Kansas City audiences will be wowed – and transported back in time – when Jersey Boys lights up Starlight Theatre later this month. This Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning musical explores the true story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

They were just four young men from the streets of New Jersey until they opened their mouths – then the radio could not get enough! Starting out in the early 1960s, they quickly created a name for themselves and, then, climbed all the way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (inducted in 1990). While The Four Seasons were in perfect harmony on stage, it was a very different story when the lights went down. Jersey Boys, the musical that has been telling that story since 2005, made Frankie and the boys an international sensation all over again.

The third Broadway show of Starlight Theatre’s 2017 Starlight Broadway season, Jersey Boys will surely have audiences dancing in their seats for six performances June 27-July 2.

Jersey Boys opened on Broadway to critical acclaim in November 2005. It ran 11 record-breaking years and became the 12th-longest-running show in Broadway history before the boys said goodbye on Jan. 15, 2017. But the touring production, which opened to rave reviews in December 2006, continues on. As of January, Jersey Boys had been seen by more than 24 million people worldwide.

Jersey Boys is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, with book by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. Included in the musical’s score are Top 10 favorites “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like A Man,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” and “December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)” composed by Bob Gaudio, an original member of The Four Seasons.

Tickets for Jersey Boys at Starlight are $15-$143. Because the show contains strong adult language and subject matter, the national tour recommends it for ages 12+.
