VisitKC Honors Starlight as Top Live Music Venue

Seeing a live concert under the stars at Starlight Theatre is a memorable experience. Apparently visitors to the Kansas City area wholeheartedly agree!

Starlight was recently celebrated in VisitKC’s Visitors’ Choice Awards competition, bringing home top honors as voters’ “Favorite Concert/Live Music Venue.”

VisitKC’s 2017 voting campaign, limited to people who live outside the five-county Kansas City metro, garnered thousands of votes. Visitors weighed in on their top picks for the best experiences in the region, including arts and entertainment, sports, shopping, dining and more.

“There’s no better way to gauge travelers’ interest than with the Visitors’ Choice Awards,” said Jessica Blubaugh, VisitKC’s interim vice president of partnerships & events. “From nationally renowned barbecue to iconic jazz venues, these selections help to guide the 25.2 million visitors who experience Kansas City every year.”

Starlight is thrilled to receive this recognition from visitors and from VisitKC, the nonprofit organization that supports Kansas City’s convention and tourism industries.

During summer 2017, Starlight staged 20 concert events that drew a total audience of nearly 100,000 music fans. Already in 2018, Starlight has announced 11 concert events with many more still to come.
