“Destination Starlight” Benefit Gala Arrives May 17

The four “destinations” of Starlight – our historic venue, expansive education offerings, Broadway blockbusters and big-name concerts – will be on the map May 17 at the 28th Annual Starlight Theatre Benefit Gala.

This year’s subway-themed “Destination Starlight” Benefit Gala will have guests on track to celebrate the traditions of Starlight and its contributions to the community. Our not-for-profit theatre has entertained Kansas City audiences for more than six decades and provided numerous arts education opportunities to area youth.

Driving the train as co-chairs of the event are Starlight Board President Russ Welsh and his wife, Debbie, both longtime Starlight supporters. “Starlight is an iconic cultural landmark in Kansas City that has earned our support,” Russ said. “We’ve been transported by the sights and sounds of Broadway shows and concerts for many years.”

Stops along the evening’s route will include presentation of the 2014 Star Award to Kansas City civic leader Mark Jorgenson, a cocktail reception, multi-course dinner, live performances and after-party, featuring custom entertainment designed by EPIC Entertainment.
