With 10 concert events completed and more than a dozen yet to come, Starlight Theatre is heating up August with rebels, rock stars, Broadway beauties and comedians as the 2015 Capitol Federal Concert Series continues.

Phish
Performed Wednesday, August 5
Noted for musical improvisation, Phish is an American rock band best known for blending music genres to create a definitive, exceptional sound. Phish consistently ranks as one of the highest-earning concert bands in the world with more than 3 million albums sold.

Def Leppard with STYX & Tesla
Tuesday, August 11
With 100 million records sold worldwide and two prestigious Diamond Awards to their credit, Def Leppard’s live shows are filled with powerful, melodic rock anthems that explore the band’s nearly 40-year career. Accompanied by STYX, which grew to super-stardom in the 1980s, and Tesla, a California multi-platinum-selling rock band that appeals to a loyal fan base and its younger-generation offspring.

Idina Menzel
Wednesday, August 12
Idina Menzel is best known for her critically acclaimed roles on Broadway, including Elphaba in the original Broadway production of Wicked, as well as television, music and film. On the big screen, she voiced Snow Queen Elsa in the hit 2013 Disney animated feature Frozen. Her character’s big number, “Let It Go,” became a surprise pop hit.

My Morning Jacket
Thursday, August 13
From psychedelic to soul to classic rock, My Morning Jacket’s range has remained steadfast throughout the band’s 16 years. The New York Timescalled the band “…the new kings of expand-your-mind, religious-experience rock.”

Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire
Friday, August 21
According to Billboard chart statistics, Chicago is the second most successful American rock band of all time in terms of album and single sales. The band’s steady stream of 1970s and ‘80s hits included “Saturday in the Park,” “25 or 6 to 4,” and “Hard Habit to Break.” Sharing the stage is Earth, Wind & Fire, one of the most musically accomplished, critically acclaimed and commercially popular funk bands to emerge since the 1970s.

A Prairie Home Companion
Saturday, August 22
A Prairie Home Companion’s “America the Beautiful Tour” stars Garrison Keillor in one of his final excursions before stepping down as host. Audiences will enjoy two hours of duet singing, improv with sound effects, Guy Noir Private Eye, poetry, outright foolishness and News from Lake Wobegon.

Incubus & Deftones
Sunday, August 23
The alternative metal sound of Incubus mixes California rock with Red Hot Chili Peppers-influenced funk. The band claimed rock stardom with such hits as “Drive,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “Are You In.” Also on the bill, Deftones was one of the first groups to play heavy riffs and screamed vocals with more ethereal themes and lullaby singing.

Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival
Friday, August 28
Presented by Funny or Die, the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival features Aziz Ansari with special guest star Amy Schumer. Joining them on the Oddball stage is a rotating cast including Anthony Jeselnik, Bridget Everett, Jeff Ross, Nick Kroll, Rachel Feinstein and T.J. Miller.

Little Big Town
Saturday, August 29
The 2015 American Country Music Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town headlines this year’s Y’allapalooza, presented by Q104. The foursome features Jimi Westbrook, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman and Phillip Sweet.

Boston
Sunday, August 30
The arena rock band behind one of the fastest-selling debut albums in history, Boston prides itself on performing a live show without the use of prerecorded music or technical enhancements. Over its 35-year history, Boston has sold more than 31 million albums in the United States.
