As life goes on for Goo Goo Dolls, the ensuing music connects even more closely, embracing experimentation, exhibiting assurance and exuding experience. Drawing on over three decades together, the four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated record-breaking multiplatinum rock band—John Rzeznik and Robby Takac—supply a real sense of hope and a whole lot of heart on their twelfth full-length album, "Miracle Pill" [Warner Records]. Now, they hit the road in 2020—including a concert under the stars at Starlight Monday, August 3.
Lifehouse joins Goo Goo Dolls on tour at Starlight. Since bursting on to the scene in 2000 with their hit debut, "No Name Face"—which sported the chart-topping modern rock-turned Hot 100 #2 hit, "Hanging by a Moment"—Lifehouse has released seven albums that have cumulatively sold more than 15 million around the world, spawning a string of multi-format airplay hits like "You and Me," "First Time," "Whatever It Takes" and "Halfway Gone."
Forest Blakk opens the evening at Starlight, and is the kind of nimble songwriter who can take tried and true terrain like love and etch new facets in its surface. Each of his piano- and acoustic-driven songs is a gem that gleams with vulnerability. A true Renaissance man who writes poetry in addition to songs, Blakk is deeply invested in making honest connections and empowering others to be visible, especially those who feel invisible, as he did as a kid.
