Jim Gaffigan, two-time Grammy® Award nominee and star of TV Land’s “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” brings his Noble Ape Tour to Starlight Theatre audiences on Thursday, July 20.

The Indiana native and father of five has received wide-ranging accolades and awards throughout his career for his standup comedy, acting and writing.

Gaffigan got his start when he moved to New York in 1990 at the age of 24. Quickly proving his comic merit, he landed an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” in 1993. Letterman was impressed and later handpicked Gaffigan to develop a sitcom for his production company. Despite critical acclaim, however, “Welcome to New York” was cancelled shortly after its initial run in 2000.

Gaffigan fared better as a guest star on a number of other TV hits including “That ‘70s Show,” “Sex and the City,” “Ed,” “Law & Order,” “My Boys” and “Portlandia.” He also has been a mainstay on the big screen with memorable roles in Going the Distance, Away We Go, It's Kind of a Funny Story and more. Gaffigan even starred in a Broadway production, That Championship Season, in 2011.

As an author, Gaffigan’s first book, “Dad is Fat,” spent three months on The New York Times Best Sellers list in 2013, and he followed it up with “Food: A Love Story” the following year.

He earned Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album for Jim Gaffigan: Mr. Universe in 2013 and Obsessed in 2015. That same year, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Morning Program for his contributions to “CBS Sunday Morning.”

“The Jim Gaffigan Show,” his sitcom about a couple raising their five kids in a two-bedroom New York apartment, has aired on TV Land since mid-2015. The Los Angeles Times calls it “a smart, dry and delightful mix of old-fashioned dopey-dad sitcom and meta-fictional experimental comedy.”
