Formed in early 2006 as they were finishing up their studies at Columbia University, indie rock band Vampire Weekend quickly grew their success thanks to the new influence of bloggers and internet music buzz. With a sound inspired by a multitude of cultures, genres and instruments, this Grammy Award winning band will take the Starlight stage for one night only, September 29, 2020.
The celebrated indie music of Vampire Weekend has culminated in four studio albums, with plans a fifth in 2021. The band’s most recent album, “Father of the Bride,” was released May 3, 2019, and became the band’s third consecutive album to debut at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts. It was the group’s first project in nearly six years, and is incredibly musically diverse with influences ranging from country to pop and jam bands. It received widespread critical acclaim and has been described as a “masterpiece” by Rolling Stone, with 13 songs from the album reaching the top 50 of Billboard’s U.S. Hot Rock Songs charts.
