A Gift of Good Cheer

2015-12-08
CATEGORY: Indoor Series

If holiday shopping is on your to-do list, we’d like to make a suggestion. Starlight Indoors shows fit everyone!

What do you get for the parent or grandparent who has everything? We suggest a gift of live entertainment mixed with lots of laughter at Dixie’s Tupperware Party or Late Nite Catechism.

How about the teen or twentysomething who spent countless hours of youth engrossed in the “Harry Potter” tomes? We’d recommend the hilarious Harry Potter parody, Potted Potter. All seven books performed at warp speed!

And for those who may experience withdrawal after seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the 14th time? Keep The Force going with a trip to see One-Man Star Wars Trilogy at Starlight.

It’s been said that new experiences are cherished by gift giver and receiver alike so tickets to any or all of the four award-winning comedies and parodies coming in January should be a welcome sight in everyone’s stockings!

Starlight Indoors, a new live theatre series from Starlight Theatre, is presented in heated, comfortable, intimate performance spaces on-site at Starlight. The 2016 Starlight Indoors lineup features an entertaining variety of Off-Broadway shows.

Tickets are on sale now for all four shows. And for those very special people on your shopping list, we’d suggest an upgrade to VIP seating and valet parking, too!

  • Dixie’s Tupperware Party spotlights Dixie Longate, the fast-talking Tupperware lady from Alabama who took Off-Broadway by storm. Since earning a Drama Desk Award nomination in 2008, Dixie has hosted, promoted and educated audiences worldwide on multiple uses of Tupperware – both tried-and-true and innovative and new! Throughout the show, Dixie entertains with bawdy humor, outrageously funny tales, free giveaways and the most fabulous assortment of Tupperware ever sold on a stage.

    For adult audiences.

  • Late Nite Catechism puts you at the head of the class for Sister’s hilarious lesson. Part catechism class, part stand-up routine and wholly fun, Late Nite Catechism is one of the longest-running shows in U.S. theatre history, debuting in 1993 and playing to audiences of 3½ million in six countries ever since. During this interactive comedy, Sister will take you back to the good ol’ days of Latin Mass, meatless Fridays and more.

Catholics and heathens alike can go to the head of the class.

24 performances – in Berger Studio at Starlight Theatre
Run time: 2 hours with intermission

  • Potted Potter takes on the challenge of condensing all seven “Harry Potter” books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into 70 hilarious minutes. The world’s only Harry Potter parody was written and created by two-time Olivier Award-nominated actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner. The fantastically funny show features all the favorite characters, a special appearance by a fire-breathing dragon, endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic.

Family entertainment for ages 6 to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed).

A comedic must-see for Star Wars fans of all ages.
