“Once On This Island” Broadway Musical Adaptation Coming Soon To Disney+

Once On This Island

Disney plus isn’t done with musicals yet! After the success of Hamilton, the streaming platform has announced that the Tony Award winning show Once On This Island will be adapted into a new live-action film. Most recently, Once on This Island won the 2018 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, but it originally premiered on Broadway in 1990. The show tells the tale of a peasant girl in search of her place in the world and ready to risk it all for a forbidden love. While neither casting nor a production timeline have been set, we do know that Jocelyn Bioh is set to pen the script. We’ll bring you updates on this exciting production as we have them!
