Starlight recently announced an exciting partnership with The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to bring Van Gogh Alive, a multi-sensory experience celebrating the famous 19th century artist Vincent van Gogh, to Kansas City. Displayed only at Starlight, this breathtaking display with mesmerizing light, color, sound and fragrance will offer visitors the unique opportunity to experience Van Gogh’s artistry and truly venture into his world.
Created by Grande Experiences, Van Gogh Alive is a large-scale, interactive multi-sensory arts and entertainment experience that has inspired over 8 million people across 70 global cities. For Van Gogh Alive, Starlight will transform its stage house into the world of the revered 19th century painter. Patrons will wander through the exhibit in Starlight’s 12,000 square foot and climate-controlled space.
A simultaneously enchanting, entertaining and educational experience, Van Gogh Alive enables visitors to experience Van Gogh’s art like never before. Walk into a life-sized representation of Van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles painting, or explore the iconic “Sunflower selfie room” – a 360° mirrored room complete with hundreds of sunflowers that has delighted Instagram feeds across the world. Interactive art stations will also be available, so visitors can create their own masterpieces with the help of expert video tutorials and share their images using #VanGoghAliveKC.
The Van Gogh Alive experience is offered exclusively at Starlight, and will run October 23, 2021, through December 31, 2021. Tickets start at $45. Starlight is the only official ticketing provider of Van Gogh Alive, and tickets may only be purchased online or by calling the Starlight Box Office at 816-363-7827.
Guests are also invited to visit The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to see two of Vincent van Gogh’s original paintings, Olive Trees and Restaurant Rispal at Asnières, both on view in the Bloch Galleries. Learn more, here.
