Four cast members from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast brightened the day of young patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital on July 14, when they visited the hospital to perform two songs from the musical, answer questions and autograph show photos.

Brooke Quintana, who plays the lead role of Belle, captivated the audience of about 50 children, parents and hospital staff with her live performance of “A Change in Me.” Stephanie Gray, who stars as Mrs. Potts, did the same with her vocal solo of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Following their performances, Belle and Mrs. Potts were joined by the cast members who play Cogsworth (Samuel Shurtleff) and Madame de la Grande Bouche (Stephanie Harter Gilmore) for a brief question and answer session with those attending. Questions ranged from “Where’s the Beast?” to “What’s your favorite part of the show?” to “Do you get bored doing the same show over and over again?!”

The morning visit wrapped up with the children visiting one-on-one with their favorite Beauty and the Beast characters, taking photos and getting autographed photos to remember the occasion.

Starlight Theatre was proud to partner with Children’s Mercy Hospital to bring a bit of musical magic to patients and their families.
