Don your favorite neon spandex, tease your hair to new heights, and join the fun Friday, May 3 at After Hours at the Towers at Starlight. Presented by Young Friends of Starlight, this year’s event is inspired by the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages, and all of its ‘80s glam-rock glory.
Now in its fourth year, After Hours at the Towers has grown to a two-part rockin’ evening that will begin outdoors in the Helzberg Garden of the Stars with a red carpet arrival. For the main act, patrons will move to the stage for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes atmosphere, as we rock ‘n’ roll all night long to exciting live music by popular Kansas City band Lost Wax.
“Typically you come to Starlight and you’re sitting in the seats, getting to enjoy the Broadway shows or a concert,” said Alex Lanning, 2019 After Hours at the Towers Chair. “After Hours at the Towers gives you backstage access and a different perspective of the venue. It’s truly one of the best events of the year.”
Throughout the evening, popular Kansas City restaurants and food vendors provide delicious bites and libations. Patrons will also enjoy many photo opportunities and ‘80s-themed activities throughout the evening.
Keeping with tradition, funds raised from After Hours at the Towers directly benefit Starlight’s Bob Rohlf Internship program, which provides paid summer internships to college students across multiple departments.
