Meet the CATS Coming to the Jellicle Ball!

The record-breaking musical CATS tells the story of a group of Jellicle cats who come together for one special night per year—at the Jellicle Ball—to choose which of their tribe will be reborn. Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot, the stage musical features more than 25 felines, each with its own personality and story. Learn more about those fabulous fur balls before seeing them on the Starlight stage, July 9-14.

Grizabella is an older cat who’s coat has seen better days. She’s a former “glamour cat” whose still striving for acceptance with the other Jellicles.

Mr. Mistoffolees is a black-and-white tuxedo cat—he’s flashy and a showman. He has magical powers—but he’s still learning to control his conjurings.

Bill Bailey & Tumblebrutus are mischievous little kittens! They are both white cats with brown patches of fur – similar to tabby cats.

Rum Tum Tugger is a black tom cat with a wild mane. He’s a ladies man who loves being in the spotlight—but wants to set himself apart from the tribe.

Munkustrap is a grey tabby cat and the main narrator in CATS. He’s protective and has a commanding presence—quite different than his younger brother, Rum Tum Tugger.

Bustopher Jones is a well fed street cat. His coat is black but he has distinctive white paws. He’s a smart, regal cat the Jellicles seem to respect.

Victor is a tomcat with cream and brown tabby markings.

Old Deuteronomy is a wise, elderly cat – he’s the leader of the Jellicles, who respect him very much. He has a long, shaggy coat and a full beard.

Victoria is a shy and quiet kitten—known for her distinct white coat. She’s beautiful and poised, but also full of compassion—playing a major role in the acceptance of Grizabella.

Mungojerrie & Rumpleteazer are orange, black and brown calico or tabby cats. The duo is sneaky and mischievous—they specialize in petty theft and are known as partners-in-crime.

Jellylorum is named after T.S. Eliot’s own cat. She’s a practical yellow calico/tabby cat who’s got a motherly demeanor about her.

Alonzo is a tom cat – and a flirtatious one at that. The other Jellicles respect him – despite his slight arrogance.

Coricopat & Tantomile are identicle twins – although their breed of cat is unclear, they have tabby markings. The duo are inseparable and always move together.

Plato is a tall, lanky cat that’s ginger and white in color.

Macavity has wild hair of many colors – red, orange, white and sharp black stripes. He’s the only true villain of the Jellicles, as he attempts to scare the tribe.

Jennyanydots is a long-haired, yellow and orange cat – her owners think that she’s lazy, as she’s fairly docile during the day – but at night, she busies herself with all sorts of activities.

Bombalurina has a distinct, red-orange coat with black markings. She’s quite statuesque and confident, and particularly flirtatious with the male cats.

Cassandra is a mysterious, aloof cat with a brown and cream short-haired coat. She’s exotic and elegant – a very poised feline.

Skimbleshanks is an orange tabby cat with lots of energy, despite his age. He’s a bit of a control freak, though he does have a more tender side.

Demeter, while refined and elegant, is a bit skittish from her troubled past. She has a gold coat with black and tabby-like markings.

Sillabub is an excitable cat, as she’s the youngest of her tribe. She’s got a rich black, brown and red coat with a white chest and other accents.

Pouncival is another playful kitten. His tabby coat is brown, white and grey, with a distinct triangular mark around his eye.
