In a joint effort to help the Community Blood Center (CBC), Starlight and neighboring organizations are seeking donors for their 4th Swope Park Community Blood Drive.
New and past donors are encouraged to register, as 600 units of blood are needed daily to meet regional hospital needs. A seven-day inventory of all blood types must be continually replenished to maintain a stable supply at the CBC. However, the local blood supply has fallen short of that daily goal since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is where you can make a difference!
The Swope Park Community Blood Drive will take place inside the Applause Club at Starlight Theatre on Wed., Feb. 10 and Thurs., Feb. 11, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Applause Club is located on the east side of the theatre and can be accessed through Gate 8. Curbside parking is available.
For the safety of all, face masks are required. Donors are asked not to attend if they are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms, a fever or have been diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID-19 until 14 days after their illness has resolved.
Last December, Starlight was able to register more than 60 donors who collectively donated 65 units of blood. Each unit helped up to 3 patients.
