Two Dr. Seuss Adaptations Coming to the Screen
Whoville fans are in luck this holiday season, with two Dr. Seuss adaptations coming to the screen. First, on December 9 at 7 p.m. CST, NBC will air a musical holiday special of The Grinch Musical starring Glee’s Matthew Morrison in the title role. The show originally played on Broadway in 2006 and 2007, and now will air from the Troubadour Theatre in London. Then, December 11-15, fans can stream the play Who’s Holiday, a one-woman where we catch up with a middle-aged Cindy Lou Who, who recounts the night she first met the Grinch and what’s happened in her life since that fateful evening. Check out https://broadwaycares.org/pre-event/whosholiday/ for more information on how to stream Who’s Holiday.
‘The Prom’ Trailer: Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and More Bring Broadway Hit to Netflix
The Netflix adaptation of Broadway’s hit musical The Prom is set to stream starting December 11. The production recently released its official trailer and it’s high-energy and star-studded, featuring incredible choreography by Casey Nicholaw - who also choreographed and directed the Broadway show. Meryl Streep, Keegan-Michael Key, Kerry Washington, James Cordon and more headline the production, which tells the story of high school girlfriends who simply want to attend the prom as a couple. The PTA is adamant that this cannot happen, but when a band of Broadway stars hears this injustice they’re determined to fight for what’s right. Singing, dancing, and a heartfelt story about acceptance and love makes The Prom a movie musical that you can’t miss.
