Welcome the Newest Members of Our Ticket Services Staff
As Starlight Theatre continues to grow its live entertainment offerings, our Ticket Services staff is also expanding. We are pleased to introduce the two newest members of the Starlight ticketing team:
Camille Sumrall
Group Sales Coordinator
After previously working in the Starlight ticket office on a seasonal basis, Camille Sumrall joined Starlight full-time in October. She is already reaching out to organizations and individuals throughout Kansas City and in surrounding areas to assist with their group ticket and dining needs for the three shows remaining in the current Starlight Indoors series. Camille will begin taking group orders for 2017 Broadway season shows later this month.
She joined Starlight after working in the Ticketing & Patron Services Department at Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Over several seasons at Lyric, she managed group sales for a variety of performances and ancillary events and became well-versed in general ticket office operations, too.
What makes Camille click:
- What’s your favorite Broadway musical?
Into The Woods. I love the music and how the dark fairy tales all intertwine for a surprisingly happy ending. - What Broadway musical do you most look forward to seeing at Starlight this summer?
Something Rotten! I’ve heard it’s hilarious, and it’s a totally new show for me. I love being surprised by new shows. - What’s something fun or funny that people may like to know about you?
I am a serious gardener and florist. I know the name and genus of lots of flowers and plants, and I love designing fresh arrangements in surprising vessels. - What have you already learned in your brief time at Starlight?
I’ve learned so much about how involved Starlight employees are in the community through various social and business organizations.

Mendi Kellner
Subscription Sales Coordinator
Filling a new full-time position created at Starlight, Mendi Kellner is focused on providing our Broadway season ticket holders with exceptional customer service and building the overall size of Starlight’s annual subscriber base.
In October, Mendi relocated to Kansas City from Tulsa, Okla., where she had worked in and around theatre for several years. Most recently, she served in a supervisory role with the University of Tulsa Theater Department and with Celebrity Attractions.
What matters to Mendi:
- What’s your favorite Broadway musical?
RENT! It was the first musical to touch me on a deep, emotional level, and it began my love affair with musicals of ALL kinds. - What Broadway musical do you most look forward to seeing at Starlight this summer?
It’s a tie between Something Rotten! and Grease. I have a silly sense of humor, and Something Rotten! seems like a show I would really enjoy. I also want to see Grease, mostly because it is Starlight’s self-produced show. I can’t wait to see the creativity that comes from some of our own! - What’s something fun or funny that people may like to know about you?
I consider myself a “Jane of All Trades.” I have many and varied interests including costume and clothing design, floral design, festival vending, cooking, baking, jewelry-making, theatre props, painting, gardening, canning and, generally, trying everything creative I can get my hands on. - What have you already learned in your brief time at Starlight?
How much of a positive influence it is to come to work every day at a place as beautiful as this theatre. For me, it makes all the difference in the world!
