Things to Do in(side) Kansas City this November

As cooler weather arrives, it’s a great time to head indoors. If you’re looking for interactive improv, cozy game nights, murder mystery events, or other things to do in Kansas City this November, we have a few suggestions.

Dungeons & Dragons The Twenty-Sided Tavern takes the (indoor) stage at Starlight November 13-15 for six shows only. This live, laugh-out-loud fantasy allows you to control the story. By calling out suggestions and making decisions on your smartphone, you’ll determine which heroes appear, where they explore, and ultimately how their story ends.

Featuring Guest Star Aabria Iyengar from Critical Role and Dimension 20. IYKYK.

Whether you’re a first-time adventurer or a seasoned D&D player, this is one quest you don’t want to skip. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy snacks and drinks in the Applause Club. Best ticket availability at the Thursday late-night performance.

Meeple-A-Thon

Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS
November 14-16

Meeple-A-Thon is Kansas City’s annual celebration of tabletop gaming, founded in the summer of 2017 with a mission to make a meaningful impact through play. What began as a 24-hour gaming marathon has grown into a vibrant three-day convention, bringing together gamers, creators, and community advocates for a weekend of connection, creativity, and cause. In case you’re wondering what a “meeple” is, it’s a small, human-shaped pawn used in modern board games to represent a player’s pieces or workers.

Cardboard Corner

9420 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS
8750 Penrose Ln, Lenexa, KS

We’re super excited to host Cardboard Corner at Starlight during The Twenty-Sided Tavern November 13-15. Cardboard Corner Cafe is your home base for connecting with fellow TTRPG (TableTop Role-Playing Game) players, board gamers, miniature enthusiasts, and painters.

Here are a few events our team is looking forward to:

November 16: Game Master Hangout, a happy hour for people who run D&D campaigns.

November 19: Mini RPG With my Mini Me (Bring your little for a game night)

November 24: Learn to play Dungeons & Dragons – great for anyone who loves The Twenty-Sided Tavern and wants to learn more about D&D.

November 30: Book Club Noir-vember – this combines two things we love – books and clever titles.

Cardboard Corner has two locations, Overland Park and Lenexa. The menu looks fire at both locations, but the Overland Park one has a pizza waffle. 😍
