Starlight Theatre is committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to facilitate commercial transactions and to provide you with a more personalized experience. We have created this Privacy Policy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to protecting the privacy of all of our customers and visitors. The following Privacy Statement discloses the information-gathering and dissemination practices and policies of the Starlight Theatre.

Except as otherwise discussed in this Privacy Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you online. For some services, we either collect or transfer personal information to a service provider you have selected, or you may visit other merchants through links on our site who may collect and use your personal information. We encourage you to ask questions and to be very cautious before you disclose your personal information to others.

This Website is managed by Starlight Theatre a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Types of information that may be collected
The personally identifiable information we collect is used to facilitate delivery of products and/or services to our customers. In the process of providing these products and/or services, we require our customers to provide certain personally identifiable information. Specific details may include, but is not limited to the following and may be subject to change:

In the case of contests, promotions, and/or newsletter registrations: We require all users and/or customers wishing to participate in any of our contests, drawings, sweepstakes, promotions, or newsletters to complete a Participant Registration Form. During this registration process we generate and collect certain personally identifiable information.

The personally identifiable information that may be collected from our customers in completion of a registration form: Customer’s first name, last name, zip code, phone number, age and email address. Winners of contests, drawings, sweepstakes, and/or promotions will be required to provide additional personally identifiable information such as a shipping address and telephone number.

In the case of product and/or service purchases: In order to complete the purchase of a product and/or service, an online credit card transaction is required. During this process we generate and collect certain verifiable personally identifiable information.

The verifiable personally identifiable information required includes the customer’s first and last name, first and last name of the credit card owner, credit card billing address, credit card number, credit card expiration date, customer’s shipping address, phone number, and email address.

If a customer sends us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, we may collect such information into a file specific to you.

Personally identifiable information does not include aggregated information that is not linked to any of your personally identifiable information. Such aggregated information may be shared with our marketing partners, advertisers and others.

How is information collected?
We may collect information from you in several different areas on the Website, including but not limited to those described below:

Registration
You may be asked first to complete a registration form and provide personally identifiable information; you may also be asked to choose a user ID and password in order to take advantage of certain features the Website may choose to offer, including, but not limited to, Newsletters, Contests, or other subscription-based services.

Newsletters and Website Emails
Starlight Theatre may offer free newsletters to share information with you about the Website, about us and our affiliates and subsidiaries, or about our business partners and advertisers and sponsors. You may receive a newsletter either by registering for a particular newsletter or in conjunction with a special feature or membership for which you have registered on the Website. You may cancel your free email subscription by following the instructions provided in the designated area of newsletters or emails.

Contests or Sweepstakes
Starlight Theatre may operate contests and sweepstakes through the Website, which may require registration. Your personally identifiable information may be used to contact you for winner notification, prize delivery confirmation or other related purposes. We may ask your permission to allow us to post publicly some of your information on the Website, such as on a winner’s page, in the event you win a contest or sweepstakes, except as required by applicable law, we will not post your information without your permission. From time-to-time Starlight Theatre may request personally identifiable information from you via surveys or voting polls. Your request must include your name, email address, mailing address and must be signed. (Signature only required for written request sent by regular mail). Please allow six weeks to process your request. After your request has been fulfilled, the only disclosures we will make are those required by law.

What choices do I have about Starlight Theatre collecting, using, and sharing my information?
It is possible for you to use much of our site without giving us any personally identifiable information. You can request at any time that Starlight Theatre not send future e-mail to you either by unsubscribing from the communication or by contacting us. A special note for parents concerning privacy
We do not encourage children to participate in providing us with any personally identifiable information. We ask that children (12 years of age and under) do not submit any personal information to us. BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SITE, YOU (“YOU”) AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SITE.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for restricting access to your account. You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not authorized by you. You agree to notify Starlight immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account. Starlight reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at its discretion, including where information provided is inaccurate or where these Terms are violated.
  • Pricing and Payment. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. Payment in full is required at the time of order. By submitting payment information, you authorize Starlight and its third-party payment processors to charge the total order amount, including applicable taxes, handling charges, and any other disclosed fees, to your selected payment method. You represent and warrant that you are authorized to use the designated payment method. Starlight reserves the right to refuse or cancel any ticket order if payment authorization is declined or if fraudulent activity is suspected.
  • Ticket Purchases. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
  1. All ticket purchases made through the Site are subject to availability and acceptance by Starlight. Prices, performance schedules, artists, programs, seating assignments, and availability are subject to change without notice. Starlight reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including suspected fraud, pricing errors, or violations of these Terms.
  • All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, except as expressly required by applicable law. Performances are generally held rain or shine. Weather conditions or other similar circumstances will not result in refunds unless Starlight determines, in its sole discretion, that a performance cannot proceed. If a performance is canceled or materially altered due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, Starlight will provide notice through its website, email, or other reasonable means of communication. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed performances, late arrivals, changes in personal circumstances, or dissatisfaction with the event.
  • Tickets may be delivered in electronic or mobile form via email, text message, account portal, or a third-party ticketing platform. You are responsible for ensuring that you can access your mobile ticket at the time of entry.
  1. Donations. By making a donation, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
  1. All donations made via the Site are intended to support the activities, including charity activities, of the Starlight.
  • By donating money through the Site, you represent and warrant that any donation you make is legal in your jurisdiction and that you are authorized to use the payment method you have selected.
  • Donations are processed by our third-party payment processor. When making a donation via the Site, you agree to any terms, conditions, or privacy policies of the third-party payment processor being utilized. When making an online donation, you will be prompted to make a one-time gift or a recurring gift. If you choose to make a recurring gift, you authorize periodic payments (e.g., monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.) made on the same form of payment in which you are making your initial payment. You will receive an email each month to the email address we have on file for you prior to the recurring gift being charged to your credit or debit card. If you decide to cancel your recurring gift, you may do so by contacting us at help@kcstarlight.com.
  • Donations may be subject to transaction processing fees, which may vary depending on the payment method used. The amount donated may be reduced by these processing fees.
  • All donations made through this website are final and non-refundable, except as required by law.
  • Starlight is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, your donation may be tax-deductible, subject to applicable tax laws. We make no representation as to whether all or any portion of your donations, including, if any, processing fees, are tax deductible. We will have no liability for any claim by any federal, state, local or any other tax authority with respect to the characterization on any applicable tax return of any donation by you. You should consult your tax advisor as to the amount of your donation that is tax deductible.
  • While Starlight makes every effort to ensure the proper use of donated funds, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes from donations. All donations are used in furtherance of Starlight’s mission and activities, but specific use or success is not guaranteed.
  1. Contests and Sweepstakes. Starlight may, from time to time, offer contests, sweepstakes, promotions, or similar programs (collectively, “Promotions”) through the Site. Participation in any Promotion is subject to these Terms and to any additional official rules or terms and conditions specific to the applicable Promotion (the “Official Rules”). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Official Rules, the Official Rules will govern with respect to that Promotion. By entering a Promotion, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
  1. Promotions may be subject to eligibility requirements, including age and geographic restrictions, as set forth in the applicable Official Rules.

  • Some Promotions may be sponsored or administered by third parties. If a third party operates or hosts a Promotion and collects your information, Starlight is not responsible for the administration of the Promotion or the collection or use of information by such third party. Participants should review the applicable sponsor’s terms and privacy policy before participating.
  • Starlight reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any Promotion at any time for any reason, including if fraud, technical failures, or other factors impair the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion.
  1. Use of Marks. Starlight owns certain trademarks, names, logos, insignia, or service marks (“Marks”). You do not have the right to use any Marks except as expressly agreed to in writing by Starlight.   1. Children’s Information. The Site is not directed at children under the age of thirteen (13) years old. If you are under thirteen (13) years old, you must immediately stop using the Site.

  1. Social Media. Links to Starlight’s social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Twitter (or X), LinkedIn, and YouTube) are included on the Site. Because anyone may post or tag on social media, posts do not necessarily reflect Starlight’s views. We reserve the right to remove anything from our social media in our sole discretion. We may also take steps to block users from access to our social media who violate these Terms. If we follow, like, favorite, share, or re-post an individual’s content on our social media, that is not an endorsement by Starlight of that third party or any service or company they represent.

YOU SHALL INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND HOLD HARMLESS THE STARLIGHT PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ALL LOSSES, CLAIMS, LIABILITIES, DEMANDS, COMPLAINTS, ACTIONS, DAMAGES, JUDGMENTS, SETTLEMENTS, FINES, PENALTIES, EXPENSES, AND COSTS (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION REASONABLE ATTORNEYS’ FEES) THAT ARISE OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH (A) YOUR VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE LAWS, (B) YOUR MISUSE OF THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, AND (C) YOUR BREACH OF THESE TERMS OR ANY OTHER TERMS ON THE SITE. You access third-party content at your sole risk. Starlight has no responsibility for any third-party content. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to any third-party content.
  • Linking to the Site. You are prohibited from linking to the Site on your website or elsewhere without the prior express written consent of Starlight. If Starlight grants you a right to link to the Site, certain terms may apply, and Starlight reserves the right to revoke such consent at any time.   1. Governing Law. These Terms will be governed by and construed, interpreted, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri without reference to its conflicts or choice of law principles. Any arbitration or court proceeding will take place in Kansas City, Missouri and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state or Federal courts in Kansas City, Missouri. You irrevocably submit and consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts. Any cause of action or other claim brought by you with respect to the Site or Content must be commenced within one year after the cause of action or claim arises.
  1. Assignment. We may assign our rights and delegate our duties under these Terms at any time to any party without notice to you. You may not assign your rights or delegate your duties under these Terms without our prior written consent. These Terms inure to the benefit of Starlight’s successors and assigns.
  1. Entire Agreement. These Terms and any terms posted throughout the Site (if any) are the entire agreement between you and Starlight with respect to your access to and use of the Site.
  1. Waiver. Starlight’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Starlight.
  1. Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be severed from the remaining provisions and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. The headings in these Terms are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.
  1. Electronic Communications. These Terms and any other documentation, agreements, notices, or communications between you and Starlight may be provided to you electronically to the extent permissible by law.
