2019 Emmy Awards Celebrate Broadway With Nominations for Fosse/Verdon, Billy Porter, and More

Numerous Broadway stars and stage-inspired shows celebrated Emmy nominations this month, with the FX limited series Fosse/Verdon leading the pack with a total of 17 nominations. The 2018 Tony Awards,  and the live broadcast of Rent on Fox each received nominations as well, and Springsteen on Broadway received a nomination for Outstanding Variety Special, which puts The Boss within reach of EGOT status - that’s an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award. If achieved, he will join the ranks with just 15 others who have ever EGOT-ed - people like Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rita Moreno and John Legend, to name a few. The 71st Emmy Awards will be held September 22 and telecast live on Fox.
