You loved her when she peddled Tupperware at Starlight Indoors in January 2016. Now, Dixie’s back with a new show, a mechanical bull and a few life lessons to share!
After a decade of wild success selling America’s favorite plastic containers to theatre audiences, Dixie Longate has added a second show and more crazy antics to her stage repertoire. Starlight Indoors audiences won’t want to miss Dixie’s Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding a Mechanical Bull and 16 Other Things I Learned While I Was Drinking Last Thursday! This new fan-favorite from Dixie opens Feb. 13 and continues for seven performances through Feb. 18. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday, too.
Dixie’s Never Wear a Tube Top was created in 2014 in collaboration with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. At launch, it played to sold-out houses for three weeks in Denver and has since traveled to several U.S. cities. Now Dixie is ready to shake things up in Kansas City!
Fans are advised to put on their cowboy boots and be ready for non-stop laughter when visiting her favorite honky-tonk (aka Starlight’s HEATED Cohen Community Stage House) for 90 minutes of fun this winter. While at Starlight, you’re sure to learn what a jeweled crown, a cardboard cutout of Julie Andrews and a box of moon pies have in common – and a lot more from Dixie, just a simple girl from Mobile, Alabama.
