Starlight STARS

Auditions for the 2019 program have been completed.

The Starlight STARS program is structured to develop and hone the skills of high school performers. Since 2003, this educational program has prepared company members to pursue arts careers, with alumni performing across the country and abroad. Selected students:

  • Strengthen their resumes
  • Perform at Starlight and throughout Kansas City
  • Cultivate skills
  • Network with industry professionals
  • Gain experience in a variety of performance styles
  • Are eligible to audition for Starlight productions
  • Become part of the Starlight community

The program’s activities take place throughout the summer, with additional fall and winter opportunities. STARS create a musical theatre medley that they perform at Starlight prior to select Broadway performances and while representing Starlight at multiple community events. Company members receive access to master classes and industry-insider workshops.

The Starlight STARS and Starlight STARS of Tomorrow are generously supported by Jeannette and Jerome Cohen Philanthropic Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater KC and Howard & Rosalyn Jacobson Donor Advisory Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater KC.

Congratulations to the Kansas City students who were cast for the 2019 Starlight STARS!
