In case you missed it—Hamilton, the Tony Award-winning blockbuster hit musical, premieres on Disney+ Friday, July 3. There’s no better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than throwing a Hamilton-themed watch party (only for those who live in your immediate household, of course)! We’ve scoured Pinterest for the perfect recipes and décor ideas to inspire you for a “Yum, Scrappy and Hungry” evening enjoying this popular musical from home.

Yum, Scrappy and Hungry

Let’s start with food—Munch on some “Non-Stopcorn” and “Guns and Chips (and dip)” as the curtain goes up. Both are fast, easy options that will keep the kids happy until the main course is ready!

Speaking of the main course—the second song will cue you to fire up the grill and throw on some “Aaron Burr-gers” or “Alexander Ham-ilton Sandwiches.” No grill? No problem—fry up a few servings of “Satis-fried Chicken Wings” for the group.

The perfect side for those dishes—“History Has its Fries on You.” Or, if you’re looking for something a little healthier, try a “Schuyler Salad” or “Three Fundamental Fruits.” Make the fruit extra patriotic by shaping strawberries, blueberries and banana pieces into an American flag!

We didn’t forget dessert—try some “Mound-A-Jello” or “Angel(ica) Cake” for two easy, sweet options after the main course settles. For drinks, enjoy some “Boston Tea” or a non-alcoholic version of “Founder’s Fizz” (seltzer, simple syrup and limejuice). For those 21+, add a little gin to the Founder’s Fizz—this cocktail was served at Broadway’s Hamilton opening night party in 2016.

Room Where It Happened

Now—let’s decorate the “Room Where It Happened!” Giant balloons are trendy right now—and just four balloons showing 1-7-7-6 are quite on-theme and make a big splash. Otherwise, Hamilton’s brand colors are gold and black. Add a few stars to that and you’ve got an easy, Hamilton-themed space. Pro-tip—many graduation decorations are gold and black, and they’re on sale right now!

Take A Break

Younger viewers might need to “Take A Break”—this musical is nearly three hours long. Why not have a few Hamilton-themed activities on hand for when the kids need a bit of a distraction? Print out a few coloring pages or paper doll templates to keep them engaged.

There you have it! The perfect Hamilton-themed watch party. “Raise a Glass to Freedom” and enjoy Hamilton when it premieres on Disney+ July 3. Check out our full “Yum, Scrappy and Hungry” watch party Pinterest board here.
