Starlight is proud to offer its Bob Rohlf interns a variety of professional development opportunities throughout their internship experience. Some of these events and opportunities include networking events, industry informational sessions, and volunteer opportunities with Young Friends of Starlight. In July, Starlight’s interns attended a networking event with GenKC, called Grow to GenKC: Why Kansas City is a Keeper.

At the event, interns heard from a panel of GenKC board members and the President of the KC Current, Allison Howard, about why Kansas City is a great location to grow your career. After the panel, participants had the opportunity to get to know one another at a networking social hour hosted by GenKC.

This event benefited me immensely by showing me how Kansas City is continuing to grow,” Brady Keys, the Information Systems intern, said. “I learned about job opportunities that can come from networking and attending events like this with GenKC.”

GenKC connects early career professionals in Kansas City and is sponsored by the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.

Intern applications for the summer of 2023 will open this fall. Check back later this year for information about the 2023 program.
