Video Captures Gratitude for Starlight

Education camps that impact 225 children every year. A high school performance troupe that performs in front of nearly 5,000 people annually. 14,700 free Broadway show tickets given to local nonprofits during each Broadway season. These are all things that Starlight Theatre is able to provide thanks to your financial support.

During this season of gratitude and giving, we ask that you continue to show your support for Starlight Theatre on #GivingTuesday (Tuesday, December 2) and join us as we strive to make an even bigger difference in the Kansas City community.

As you can see in the video, we’ve received overwhelming response from members of our Starlight family who have been impacted by your financial support:

  • Ambassadors. A volunteer group that collectively SERVED Starlight for 8,092 hours in 2014
  • Center Stage Members. A group of young professionals that plans 20+ events each year so they and their peers can GROW their relationship with Starlight
  • Vincent Legacy Scholars. A needs-based scholarship program that has given 22 minority students a total of $53,000 in funds to LEARN valuable performance skills
  • Starlight STARS of Tomorrow. A troupe of high school students that gets to PERFORM in front of nearly 5,000 people every year
  • Act Like An Animal Campers. An annual summer camp where 120 young children are educated on animals at the Kansas City Zoo and, then, learn how to ROAR like those animals in acting classes at Starlight Theatre
  • Community Ticket Recipients. Nonprofit organizations like the Down Syndrome Guild, GEAR UP and Variety Children’s Charity get toEXPERIENCE live theatre thanks to the 14,700 free community tickets Starlight disperses every summer And MUCH MORE!
