Encourage Your Senators to Pass the Heroes Act

Entertainment venues, including Starlight, were some of the first to close when the coronavirus pandemic hit earlier this year—and they’ll be some of the last to reopen. Starlight alone has projected a loss of more than $4 million dollars this year. However, the bipartisan Save Our Stages Act, sponsored in part by U.S. Missouri Senator Roy Blunt, aims to bring aid to venues who have been affected by the pandemic—including Starlight.

The $10 billion Save Our Stages Act made it into the latest version of the Heroes Act, which recently passed in the House of Representatives. If it passes in the Senate, the legislation would provide grants to help sustain venue operators, their staff and artists through the prolonged closure due to COVID-19. Specifically, Starlight could be eligible for significant funding to cover payroll costs, rent, utilities and personal protective equipment.

Starlight asks you to encourage your senators to pass the bi-partisan Heroes Act. Securing assistance for Starlight would ensure that the magic of a night under the stars will be enjoyed for generations to come.
