Five+ Things to Do at Starlight During the World Cup

As the world arrives in Kansas City for the World Cup, Starlight is presenting more events to the regular summer line up of Broadway shows and live music.  

General parking is included with tickets to all the following events. 


1: Movie Nights 

The Wizard of Oz 
June 26 | 6:30-9:45 p.m.  
Movie begins at 8 p.m. 

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Starlight for an unforgettable evening under the Kansas City stars! Experience the timeless magic of The Wizard of Oz on the big screen. 

Pre-show Activities Begin at 6:30 p.m.

  • Enjoy themed cocktails and mocktails and snacks 
  • Get your photo at the rainbow fountain 
  • Grab a free “No Place Like Starlight” button to wear 
  • Join in or watch a pre-show Costume Parade 
  • Pick Your Poppy pinwheel planted on the north lawn 

The Sandlot 
July 2 | 6:30 p.m. 
Movie begins at 8 p.m.

“The Sandlot” is the beloved 1993 film about summer, friendship, and America’s favorite pastime. In the summer of 1962, a new kid in town, Scotty Smalls, is taken under the wing of a ragtag group of neighborhood baseball players who spend their days at the local sandlot. 

Pre-Show Activities Begin at 6:30 p.m.

2: Pilates on the Starlight Stage

For fitness lovers, don’t miss Starlight’s first ever wellness program on June 28. 

Sip + Sweat
June 28 | 8:30-11 a.m. 

Take center stage with your mat and a trained Club Pilates professional as they guide you through a meditative flow paired to a Broadway soundtrack – all on the Starlight stage. Please bring your own mat. 

Afterward, unwind in our Applause Club with a complimentary Boba Tea Drink from Chatime Overland Park while mingling with a like-minded health and wellness community. 

3: July 4th Concert Followed by Fireworks 

Bob Dylan in Concert
July 4 | 7 p.m.

American singer-songwriter and musical icon Bob Dylan will bring his iconic hits, distinctive voice, and storytelling presence to Starlight July 4.  

Experience classic Dylan songs complemented by opening performances by Lucinda Williams and her band and The John Doe Folk Trio. 

Stick around after the show for a Fourth of July fireworks show! 


4: A Broadway Show

July 7-12 | A Beautiful Noise – The Neil Diamond Musical 

Show starts at 8 p.m. each night 
Run time: Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes including intermission. 

A Broadway show that feels like a concert! Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, A Beautiful Noise is the uplifting true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chartbusting, show-stopping American rock icon.
