Important Changes at Starlight
The 2024 Season at Starlight is right around the corner! We want to make sure you’re informed and prepared before heading out to Starlight this summer. Here are the highlights of some changes happening in and around the venue. Please call Ticketing Services at (816) 363-7827 to address specific questions.
NEW Bag Policy for 2024
To provide a safer environment for our guests and to expedite entry into the venue, Starlight has implemented a clear bag policy which limits the size and type of bag that can be brought into the venue. Below is what is permissible:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- One-gallon clear zip-seal bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
- Small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ may be carried into the venue along with one of the clear bag options. These do not need to be clear.
- Please note: An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.
Parking
Parking at Starlight will be more colorful this year! Over the winter, we worked with our friends at the Kansas City Zoo + Aquarium to create new shared parking signage.
A couple of the updates include: Zebra Lot is now Yellow Lot and Cheetah Lot is now Red Lot. The lot on the west side of Starlight, formerly known as Lot A, is now the Blue Lot.
We’re happy to announce that general parking is included in ticket prices again this year. Premium parking is $30 and must be paid for in advance.
Performance Alerts
To keep our audience aware of delays due to weather, traffic, or other issues, Starlight has implemented Statusfy.
Updates will appear in real time and can be found on Starlight’s website at kcstarlight.com/alerts/ or on the Statusfy app.
Search for Starlight in the app and be sure to add it to your favorites so you can keep up with any alerts.
Gate Entry Times
For all Broadway performances, gates open at 6:30 p.m. Please note: Dining in the Applause Club begins at 6:30 p.m. as well.
The seating bowl opens at 7 p.m., and the show begins promptly at 8 p.m.
Concert gate and show times vary, so we encourage guests to arrive in advance of the time printed on their concert tickets.
Dining + Concessions
We are pleased to share that several updates have been made to enhance your dining experience this summer. These changes include a move to one dining option available to all guests of the Applause Club who purchase Broadway pre-show dining.
Applause Club: Dining will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. and seating will be available inside and on the patio of the Applause Club based on order of arrival and preference. Seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Coming Soon: Starlight Express Market! This season, a new grab-and-go option will be available to purchase snacks and beverages, including alcohol.
Customers will be required to swipe a credit or debit card to enter this area. When you check out, the card will be charged the amount of your purchase. We will announce when the Starlight Express Market is open for business!
Digital Tickets
Starlight launched a digital ticketing platform for Broadway performances last summer. This year, all ticket buyers will have access to a mobile ticket wallet, which can be easily accessed from any internet-enabled device.
Capital Campaign
Starlight launched its $40 million Uniquely KC Campaign to further its mission of connecting our community through live arts experiences that entertain, inspire, and engage. Through venue improvements and programs expansion, the campaign will enhance the Starlight tradition and extend it to new participants of all ages.
