The History
The musical is based on the book The Temptations by Otis Williams, the founder and last remaining member of the original Temptations. The show dives into each member’s backstory — how they met, the groundbreaking heights they hit, and how personal and political conflicts threatened to tear the group apart as the United States fell into civil unrest.
As a group of black men, they bridged the gap between white and black audiences at a time when civil rights issues were very much being grappled with.
