The arrival of the holidays wouldn’t be complete without the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

Since the Great Depression, the Rockefeller Center Tree has been the epicenter of Christmas in New York City and a symbol of the holidays around the world, with hundreds of thousands of visitors passing by each day while the tree is on display.

This year’s tree lighting ceremony was broadcast live on NBC on December 3. Broadway star and 2015 Starlight concert artist Idina Menzel joined a group of star-studded musical guests and performed the holiday classic “Holly Jolly Christmas.”

Menzel’s career has crossed stage, film, television, and music. She was most recently heard as Elsa in Disney’s box-office smash Frozen, in which she sang the film’s Oscar-winning song “Let It Go.” Currently Menzel is starring in the original Broadway production of IF/THEN as Elizabeth.

Idina Menzel will take the Starlight Theatre stage August 12. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 5, click here for more information.
