Starlight accepts payment by cash or credit card for purchases of theatre and concert tickets at our box office. All food and beverage locations accept both credit card and cash payments, as does the Ovation gift shop. Credit cards accepted are American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. At food and beverage stands within the venue, Apple Pay and Google Wallet are also accepted.
Parking purchased upon arrival at Starlight must be paid in cash. Grass parking is $10 per vehicle. Paved parking is $15 per vehicle.
Starlight Indoors offers free self-parking.
Starlight gift certificates may be used to purchase Broadway season and single tickets, concert tickets, indoor series tickets, prepaid parking, prepaid dining in the Applause Club and souvenirs in the Ovation gift shop. Gift certificates may also be applied to registration fees for Starlight’s performing arts camps and classes for youth. Gift certificates can be redeemed in person, online, via phone or mail.
Performances at Starlight are held rain or shine, but we are committed to making guest safety our top priority on inclement nights. Our full weather policy is at kcstarlight.com/weather and in each Star Notes program.

All students who plan to audition for the 2020 Starlight Stars of Tomorrow are asked to download and review a detailed document regarding rehearsal and performance dates and expectations. Parents and guardians should review the document as well.
Two separate audition sessions are offered. Those auditioning need only attend one of the sessions.

Who:
Students in grades 5 through 7 during the current school year (2019/2020) may audition.
When:
- Session #1
Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. Required arrival time for check-in is 6:45 p.m.
- Session #2
Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m. Required arrival time for check-in is 9:45 a.m.
We will move as quickly as possible, but we cannot guarantee an end time for either session. With this information in mind, any issues this may cause must be addressed with Starlight Theatre’s Education & Outreach Department prior to the audition date.
RSVP Instructions:
An RSVP is required to audition*. Please email education@kcstarlight.com with the following information prior to your chosen date:
- requested audition date
- student name
- current grade level
- parent/guardian name
- phone number of at least one parent/guardian
*If providing an RSVP on their own behalf, students must copy at least one parent/guardian on the email.
We will confirm receipt of each audition RSVP.
Items to Prepare:
Those auditioning must complete a vocal and group dance audition. Audition requirements are as follows:
- Memorize 32 bars of a Broadway musical piece that shows off your vocal range. Starlight will provide an accompanist.
- Wear clothes and shoes suitable for a group dance audition; tennis shoes are acceptable. Students will not be allowed to be barefoot or in only socks during the dance call.
Items to Bring to the Audition:
- Sheet music accurately marked with the start/stop of the 32-bar cut and in the correct key, as the accompanist will not transpose
- Resumé
- Current headshot or other student photo (which will not be returned)
Cost:
For those selected, the cost of the program, including all master classes and industry workshops with theatre professionals, is only $300.

Scholarships are partial, with the amount offered dependent upon the number of applications received and the individual applicant’s financial need. To receive a scholarship, the student must audition and be cast in the troupe. Applications are due Monday, March 30.
